Last night the next guest came back from hibernation.
First he appeared in hedgehog feeder 1 and a little later he paid a short visit to the squirrel hutch.
We are talking about little Zorro, our garden dormouse.
All night long he sneaked up to the food bowl in Hedgehog Feeding House 1 and snatched a piece of dry cat food.
Last year he also juggled the tit ring and nibbled at the tit dumplings.
What I don’t like about the fact that he gets food from the hedgehog feeder is the fact that I have a stray cat at the feeder from time to time at night. I don’t want to hope that our Zorro, when he runs around on the ground, won’t become a victim of the cat at some point.
Please keep your fingers crossed that this doesn’t happen.
Otherwise, I think I’ll build the box for our garden dormouse next. I thought I had a little more time. But due to his early waking up from hibernation, the little one is putting me under a bit of pressure ?
By the way, I have already reported the sighting of the garden dormouse on the website https://meldestelle.gartenschlaefer.de/. If you also discover the little Zorro in your garden, please also report it on the website.
